NVQ Registered Managers Award

The national minimum standards for care require that managers in care homes will need to have a qualification relevant to the care provided and a qualification in the management of services at NVQ Level 4

The NVQ Registered Managers Award links into existing national occupational standards. It provides the manager with an award that states their competencies into a wide range of areas.

The awards is aimed at the person who are managing care services to some of the most vulnerable members of our society including older people and those with physical or learning difficulties.

The qualification has ten units to be made up by taking:

a) All four units in the mandatory section and

b) At least one unit from each of the following four sets of units:

• Managing activities
• Managing people and other resources
• Managing information
• Managing quality

c) Two more units from any of the remaining units are to be chosen which can be the A1 award, giving you two awards in one.
